Recipes

Eat with your eyes. Feed your Soul.

It might seem a little random to have recipes in this website but the truth is, cooking is an art form. And FYI, I do NOT mean baking. That requires strict measuring with no room for creativity or as my kids like to say, “a beautiful oops.”

When my babies were little and I had little time for art, cooking was my main creative outlet. So was blogging about cooking, and learning to style and photograph the food I made. Something to keep my brain ticking along during the monotonous days of baby nurturing.

Today I’m bored with being forced to cook ‘non-spicy’ meals every night that cater to the same tastebuds of all four people in my house but I certainly poured a lot of heart, soul and creativity into these recipes so I’m keeping them here in my creative hub.

Food is love. Food is tactile, delectable, and connects human beings, much like art and story. So maybe these pages still exist because that’s what I think I’m designed to do.

Either way, thanks for being here.

Foolproof Fig Paste in the Slow CookerBy DawnAll you need are two ingredients and a crockpot! Fresh Figs are deliciously complex and they burst forth in Summer and turn quickly. If you want to make something out of your excess figs, this recipe is super easy and lasts for a few weeks in the fridge.
Pumpkin Spice Chai Protein BallsBy DawnThese little balls are chock full of healthy protein. If I don’t scarf them after the gym or during an afternoon sugar crash I intend to give them away as little gifts to friends and neighbors.
Cinnamon Boost Green SmoothieBy DawnA bit of cinnamon and vanilla add smooth notes and compliment the coconut milk, to this twist on a traditional green smoothie.
Pumpkin Chai PancakesBy DawnThis healthy breakfast will satisfy the kiddos and fill them with nutritious pumpkin. If you use a non-stick pan you won't have to add a drop of oil. The leftover pancakes are great for school lunches, snacks or tomorrows brekkie!
Apple Pear Sauce With Vanilla And GingerBy DawnSimple, tasty, sugar-free apple/ pear sauce with surprising ginger and vanilla notes that give it a bit of zing. It's great for kiddos if you don't want to feed them the processed stuff.
Mom's Chicken SaladBy DawnSometimes you gotta love a baby-boomer mayo-salad recipe. I've cut the mayo in this one with some greek yoghurt. Lightens things up a bit and tastes great on crackers or a salad.

Art That Refuses to Shrink

Dawn Noelle is a Melbourne-based artist creating bold, expressive mixed media art, oil paintings, textile works, and contemporary portraits that celebrate individuality, colour, and unapologetic self-expression. Inspired by feminism, identity, and the beauty of taking up space, every artwork is created to be felt—not to quietly blend into the background.

Looking for an original artwork to transform your home, a meaningful gift, or a statement piece that reflects who you are? Browse this collection of original paintings and fine art prints in Dawn’s online store. Every piece is created in Melbourne and shipped safely to collectors across Australia and worldwide.

Lusting for something created just for you? Dawn also accepts a limited number of art commissions throughout the year. Whether it's a portrait, a large-scale mixed media painting, or a deeply personal piece for your home or business, every commission begins with your story. Simply complete the commission enquiry form, and co-create something that couldn't belong to anyone else.

Alongside original artworks, Dawn regularly exhibits her work through Melbourne exhibitions, galleries, art fairs, and selected group shows. Follow along for upcoming exhibitions, new collections, behind-the-scenes studio updates, and works in progress.

You were never meant to blend in. Your walls shouldn't either.

Browse original art, discover museum-quality fine art prints, enquire about commissions, or simply find the piece that reminds you who the fuck you are.

I acknowldge the traditional owners of the lands where I work, dream and create, the Wurundjeri people. With Love, Dawn.
